Warner Home Video releases all four Christopher Reeve Superman films on DVD as stand alone or in various box set styles with a myriad of supplements, including deleted scenes, new documentaries, new audio commentaries, the Fleischer cartoons, and more.
SUPERMAN RETURNS is released for the first time on DVD, Blu-ray, and HD-DVD.
SUPERMAN THE MOVIE theatrical version with the original theatrical sound mix and SUPERMAN II- THE RICHARD DONNER CUT are released for the first time on DVD.
What you may not know is that some of the DVDs had technical problems. The SUPERMAN THE MOVIE theatrical version DVD proved to not contain the advertised original theatrical sound mix, and the SUPERMAN III disc content was the 2001 DVD release, even though the disc art was for the newer release. Warner took responsibility, and if you mailed the discs to them, they would send you the correct ones back at their expense.

After four years on the ABC network, followed by a six month cable run in early 1989, the film returns to network television on CBS in the form of the theatrical version edited for time and network standards.
Since all the ABC airings had been the extended TV version, this screening would mark the first time the theatrical version would air on network television in the U.S.
CBS had also shown SUPERMAN THE MOVIE shortly after it had aired on ABC four times.
The print for this airing was the same as the carboard package version available on home video at the time.
